Emergency Nutrition Service Delivery: From Preparedness to Recovery

This program is designed to strengthen the capacity of nutrition stakeholders to prepare for, respond to, and support recovery from emergencies while ensuring that essential nutrition services remain accessible to affected populations. It provides participants with a practical understanding of how to anticipate nutrition-related risks, organize systems and resources before crises occur, identify urgent needs during the early phase of an emergency, and deliver timely, life-saving interventions for vulnerable groups such as infants, young children, pregnant and lactating women, older persons, and nutritionally at-risk communities. The program also emphasizes the continuity of essential services throughout the response and recovery phases, promoting coordinated action, stronger local systems, and community-based approaches that help reduce the long-term impact of disasters. Its importance lies in building a prepared, responsive, and resilient nutrition workforce capable of protecting lives, preventing malnutrition, and supporting faster recovery in times of crisis.
