The BOSH SO2 (Basic Occupational Safety and Health for Safety Officer 2) training is a DOLE-recognized, 40-hour course designed to equip aspiring and current Safety Officers with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to identify, assess, and control workplace hazards. This program complies with the requirements set under RA 11058 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations, D.O. 198-18, making it a mandatory certification for individuals seeking to serve as a designated Safety Officer in any workplace or industry. Through a combination of lectures, workshops, and practical applications, participants will gain a solid foundation in occupational safety and health principles — from hazard identification and accident prevention to safety program development and regulatory compliance. LEARNING OUTCOMES By the end of the 40-hour BOSH SO2 Training, participants will be able to: ✅ Understand OSH Principles & Legislation — Explain the fundamentals of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), including its three major fields: occupational safety, occupational health, and industrial hygiene, and apply relevant national OSH laws such as RA 11058 and its IRR (D.O. 198-18). ✅ Identify Workplace Hazards & Risks — Recognize common types of hazards (physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, and psychosocial) and assess their potential impact on worker safety and health. ✅ Apply Hazard Prevention & Control Measures — Develop and implement appropriate control measures using the hierarchy of controls (elimination, substitution, engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE). ✅ Conduct Accident/Incident Investigation — Perform basic accident investigation procedures, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence. ✅ Implement Safety Programs — Develop, organize, and monitor a company's OSH program, including safety policies, safety committees, and compliance requirements. ✅ Perform Workplace Inspections — Conduct routine safety inspections and audits to ensure continuous compliance with OSH standards. ✅ Manage Emergency Preparedness & Response — Design and apply emergency action plans, including fire safety, evacuation procedures, and first aid basics. ✅ Promote a Culture of Safety — Lead safety meetings, training, and communication initiatives that encourage worker participation in maintaining a safe and healthy workplace. ✅ Fulfill the Duties & Responsibilities of a Safety Officer 2 — Perform the specific functions and legal responsibilities required of a DOLE-recognized SO2, as prescribed under Section 14 of D.O. 198-18. 🗓️ Duration: 5 Days (40 Hours) 📅 Schedule: September 15–19, 2026 ⏰ Time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM daily 💻 Mode: 100% Online — Live via Zoom 🎓 Certification: DOLE-compliant BOSH SO2 Certificate Who Should Attend: - Aspiring Safety Officers looking to earn their SO2 certification - Supervisors and team leaders wanting to strengthen their OSH knowledge - Professionals in manufacturing, corporate, hospitality, logistics, healthcare, retail, and other - industries requiring designated safety personnel - Individuals aiming for career growth or promotion into safety-related roles
